The Pura Vida Challenge in January 2024 was Costa Rica’s first ever freediving competition. 12 competitors from 8 countries came to Quepos to explore their edge, make new friends and dive in amazingly clear blue water. During the competition, 3 countries gained new national records - including Costa Rica. All 4 Costa Rican competitors walked away with national record titles. It was a fun, exciting, and historic event that I’m so grateful to have been a part of.
