About
My name is Dara Israel and I am an artist working in the medium of creative underwater photography. I believe life is meant to be fun. Our world, both outer and inner, is meant to be explored. There’s too much joy, magic and excitement to be had to spend our lives trapped in boxes - both the literal indoor kind and the self imposed limitations kind.
Through my photography work, my aim is to take you on a journey. My intention is to show people that magic is real, existing is fun, limitations aren’t real, and life doesn’t have to be so serious, even in (especially in) these scary times that we live in.
In addition to being an underwater photo artist, I am the co-founder of One Breath Deep Productions - a documentary production company dedicated to telling stories about what it means to be human. I am also a Molchanovs freediving instructor, PADI scuba instructor, yoga teacher and somatic breathworker.
Originally from the US, I am currently living a nomadic life - traveling the world to take photos, tell stories, make connections, and teach freediving.
